Once upon a time there was a Lion sleeping in
a dense forest. A mouse started playing on it. The lion was disturbed and arose
from his sleep. It caught up the mouse angrily and tried to crush it
to death.
"Pardon, O King!" cried the little Mouse, "Forgive me this time.
I shall never repeat it and I shall never forget your kindness. And who knows,
but I may be able to do you a good turn one of these days?” The lion laughed
at it and let him off.
One day the lion was caught in a net spread by a hunter. It roared and tried to escape but in vain. At that time, the mouse was passing through the jungle when he saw the same lion trapped in a hunter's net. Immediately, it set to work, gnawing at the ropes. Very soon the tiny mouse had set the lion free.
Moral of the story: Little friends may prove like your great friends.
