Once upon a time there was a house owned by Mohan. He made his house with brick and soil. Inside the house living so much mice. They are eating away food, books and clothes. They were making hole in Mohan’s house. Sometimes they were even nibbling at the furniture and spoiling that. So Mohan was very sad and disappointed with mice’s activities. He thought and thought how could he killed them. He used Poisson with food. Many mice that ate and died. In this process he killed some mouse. But that was not affective to reduce the mice drastically.
To get rid of them, Mohan petted a cat . Mohan gave all the freedom to that cat. Very soon the cat knew about the rats activities. She began to kill the mice. After some days the number of mice reduced substantially. Mohan’s presence of mind showed its desired effect.
Mohan became very happy over the improved situation. He hoped that his house would be free from rats after a few days. At the same time all the mice organized a meeting to safeguard there interest. They wanted to know from where the cat was coming. They also want to know the signal before the arrival of the cat. Many suggestions came from many mice. One of them said that, they should attack the cat and kill it as soon as she entered the room. This suggestion was not satisfactory to the majority and they rejected the suggestion.
Another mouse stood up and said “let us tie a bell around the neck of the cat. Whenever the cat comes, the ringing bell will alert us.” All the mice started clapping and applauded the proposal. They thought by this measure they will avoid the cat.
A wise mouse stood up and said.” But who will put the bell around the cat’s neck?” All the mice remained silent after hearing this. They had no answer to this question. In the mean time the cat came to that place. She pounced upon a mouse and caught it. All other mice ran into their holes. They could not take any decision about this matter. Mohan became very happy.
